4K UHD resolution
Thanks to the resolution of 3840 x 2160 (4K UHD), theCS2740 has an enormous pixel density of 164 ppi. Visible mo-nitor pixels are thus guaranteed to be a thing of the past, and themonitor display provides a highly meaningful impression of thesubsequent print resolution. Films can be evaluated, cut and gra-ded with the CS2740 in full 4K UHD resolution.
Wide gamut – gamut for saturated colours
A monitor with the widest possible gamut is needed so that theentire colour spectrum of modern cameras can be used. Onlythen is it possible to visually assess and edit the saturated huescontained in the file. Therefore, the IPS panel of the ColorEdgeCS2740 covers, for example, the wide AdobeRGB photo gamutto 99% as well as the ISO-Coated V2 CMYK print gamut. As aresult, the full colour spectrum of modern cameras is displayedunaltered and without gaps. Moreover, a precise simulation ofthe print result in the soft-proofing view is guaranteed.
Smooth and fluid transitions and gradients thanks to 16-bit LUT and 10-bit mode
The LUT (look-up-table) on the CS2740 employs internal calcu-lations with 16 bits for an extremely high colour depth and out-puts the signals with up to 10 bits. This provides billions of huesfor calculating the precise monitor display, effectively preven-ting display errors caused by the monitor such as banding orclipping, which can result in tonal breaks in gradients or unne-cessary colours in greyscale. Even fine nuances and structures indark or highly saturated areas of the image can be displayed ina differentiated and detailed manner.
